Founded by Rick and Dana Marshall, Rusty Star Cattle Company grew out of a realization that, when raised right, beef is full of fabulous flavor and is loaded with essential beneficial nutrients. The best quality meat comes from animals that receive proper nourishment throughout their lives. Through well-planned, management-intensive grazing, the cattle on the Rusty Star are able to enjoy hearty, native perennial grass all year long. This traditional method mimics how buffalo grazed in North America for centuries, and in turn, the pastures benefit from a natural amount of foraging, fertilizing and recovery.

Committed to a future of healthier land, healthier animals and healthier customers, Rusty Star’s ultimate dream is to pass our gift of knowledge on to others. We aim to not only provide top-quality, grass-fed beef to the marketplace, but also introduce willing minds to the art of old-fashioned stockmanship and true stewardship of the land.
